Celebrating 50th Wedding Anniversary with an Extended Family Photography Session

As a Denver extended family photographer, I get to meet a lot of families who are traveling to Colorado to spend time together on vacation.  One of my favorite reasons that some of them are getting together is to celebrate wedding anniversaries. This good-lookin’ family featured on the journal this afternoon is one of those families who decided to come out to Evergreen, CO for their parent’s 50th wedding anniversary.  They thought it would be nice to get a nice photo of all of them together in the pretty Colorado scenery. I am completely in love with the full family portrait we were able to create for them on the evening that we met in Evergreen.

Any regular readers of my blog are probably beginning to notice that they recognize the location we used for this family’s photos because it’s pretty much my favorite Denver Metro area photo location these days.  It’s easy to find and just absolutely stunning. It has some of the largest aspen trees I’ve seen this close to Denver and the field is overrun with pretty little mountain wildflowers. There’s a nice little hill mountain in the backdrop at the meadow, but there’s also a beautiful layered mountain view just up the road for those looking for a more dramatic mountain backdrop in some of their pictures.  

As usual with extended family photos, we got the large group portrait but then separated them into their immediate families for some individual family photos too.  We were also able to get a really cute photo of Grandma and Grandpa with all of their grandkids surrounding them. We were even able to squeeze in a handful of sibling pictures too.  Check out some of my favorites below!
