Denver Family Photographer at Clear Creek History Park for Autumn in Golden

November 2, 2018

I love when I get to photograph extended families together. I think it’s so nice that even when the kids are all grown up and are having their own kids that families are still finding the time to get dressed up, get together and get pictures created of them as one big unit. That’s something that my family never did when I was growing up and I think as an adult it would have been nice to have photos with my cousins. It’s also a good way to share the cost of getting your annual family photos done. In mid-October I had the pleasure of photographing this extended family together at the Clear Creek History Park in Golden, Colorado. I was a little sad at first because I was hoping that there would be a ton of fall color to use, but as I’ve talked about before, this year the fall color just wasn’t at its best. But, the Clear Creek History Park is a good option anyway since there are old rustic log cabins and of course the beautiful Clear Creek to use as interest for the backgrounds.

We did seek out the tiny bits of fall color that was happening in the park that day and I’m pretty pleased with what we were able to come away with at this session. We were working with an adorable tiny baby at this family session too. I pretty much never expect to get babies this young to look at the camera because they are usually still just too little for that but we got really lucky and she blessed us with a handful of photos where she looked right at the camera! Another thing I really love about photographing extended family photos is that we get to do more than just your typical family combinations. We get to do things like photograph Grandma and Grandpa with their grandkids which is something I know they’ll treasure as they grow older. The day we met was a really nice warm fall day which gave us plenty of time to get all of the different combinations that this family wanted to get. In the end it made it hard to narrow down which pictures to share on the blog sneak peek but check out my favorites below!
