Spring Blossom Family Portraits for a First Communion
I have a really pretty set of Denver First Communion family photos to share on the journal today. Back in 2019, I met this family for the first time to photograph them up at my favorite mountain spot close to Denver. They were such a joy to photograph and their three daughters are so hilarious and full of energy. I love that they’re always so willing to go along with my silly ideas to get some great candid photos of them together. When their mom reached out about getting some family photos for their youngest’s First Holy Communion that they were celebrating at home after the service, I was excited that I’d get to see them again. Their youngest daughter received the sacrament of her first holy communion that afternoon and some of their extended family traveled out to Colorado to help celebrate this special occasion in her life. To celebrate, they planned for a nice, low key family bbq in the backyard of their home here in the Denver area. They bought a pretty, tall, white cake and spent the afternoon and evening relaxing and enjoying each other’s company while watching the Phillies game on tv.
Backyard Denver First Communion Family Photos During Spring with Tree Blossom Backdrop
We were a little nervous about the weather report showing rain all afternoon, but when I arrived at their Denver home, it was just a bit of a sprinkle so we were able to make it work for some gorgeous spring blossom photos outside. I was thrilled to see that their backyard was in full bloom and the trees were flowering so nicely. Every year I hope to get to do some spring blossom pictures but our spring weather here in Denver is crazy with snowstorms often killing off the beautiful tree blossoms before we even get a chance to enjoy them. Even if there’s no snow to storm on the blossom parade, they really don’t last long. On the day of this spunky girl’s First Communion, we did end up having a bit of wind to deal with, but overall I think we got some gorgeous photos of the family together right there in their beautiful backyard. I even got some fun candids of the family just hanging out together at home while we waited for the rain to calm down a little bit closer to sunset. Below are just a small sample of some of my favorites from this set of Denver First Communion family photos that we got for this girl and her family on the day of her First Communion in Denver.
