elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Denver High School Senior Photography at City Park

June 20, 2014

I had the pleasure of photographing Andeara’s senior photos at City Park last week. She is so stylish with her bright blue hair (which looked incredible with her Dr. Who dress). She’s one smart gal too. She goes to school at the Denver School of Science and Technology in Stapleton which is probably the best high school ever for this science fiction fan. Her biggest smiles came when her mom dangled her Denver Comic Con pass behind my head. She was definitely pumped to go to the Star Trek: The Next Generation reunion where William Shatner himself was set to moderate.

But first, she had to get her senior portraits created and since she’s called City Park her home for years it made sense to go there. We made sure to include the yellow Spanish boathouse in the photos and we also used the huge ivy wall over by the zoo which is one of my favorite areas to photograph at the park. And at sunset we walked to the opposite side of the lake to get an awesome view of the mountains, the city, and the boathouse all in one photo. To all of the Denverites out there, what’s your favorite area of City Park?

Check out the SENIORS area of my site to find more information!

Gorgeous photos! My favorites were #2 (great framing and I liked the pops of blue with the hair and wall) and I also enjoyed the ones with her in the field. Awesome work!
