elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Denver Wedding Photographer | Winter Wedding at Mile High Station

January 6, 2014

I just photographed Alisha & Kevin’s gorgeous winter wedding at Mile High Station in Denver, Colorado. That venue is a smart choice for a winter bride because the feel of Mile High Station is more of a modern industrial loft type of space where gardens and plants aren’t really needed. So if you are trying to find a great winter wedding location in Denver I think it really fits the bill very well. It’s dark in there and when Alisha & Kevin added a ton of candles it really gave the place a nice intimate and romantic feel. And that place is huge so that’s quite a feat. Alisha really put a lot of thought and effort into the styling of her wedding. She created her own bouquet using brooches given to her by her bridesmaids and family. And she even continued that theme with the groomsmen by having them wear snowflake style brooches instead of boutonnières. I like that it gave them just a touch of sparkle for their winter wedding. She created all of the signage and created all of the diy projects including the doggie bags and centerpieces herself too. She and Kevin are such an adorable couple and go together so well. I had such a great time photographing them on their big day that it was hard to narrow down the photos to show on the blog. I did my best though. Check them out below:)

This is one of my favorites from the night.

Alisha’s little brother played a few songs on the guitar at her reception while one of her best friends sang a song. What a sweet gift to them:)

My favorite portrait of Alisha and Kevin on their wedding day. They just look so awesome in front of that cool architecture:)

The Curtis Hotel had this fabulous pink Christmas tree and I just had to get a quick shot of Alisha in front of it before we went to Mile High Station.

Recreating the movie poster from Bridesmaids:) They did a pretty good job didn’t they?

You’ll find more wedding photography information on the WEDDINGS page of my site.
