elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Old Town Fort Collins Engagement Photos | Grey Rock Poudre Canyon Colorado

Fort Collins Engagement Photography in Old Town

I have some beautiful and romantic Fort Collins engagement photography to share on the journal today. Earlier this month I had the opportunity to photograph 3 different couples for their engagement sessions. Kesley and Ryan were the first couple of the weekend. I went up to Fort Collins on a Friday afternoon and met with them in the Old Town area. As with any city location it’s best to just wander around through the nooks and crannies of the buildings to see what gems you can find for your photos. It’s been quite awhile since I photographed in the Old Town area of Fort Collins and as with most of Colorado it’s changed so much! It’s very vibrant with lots of fun places to use like the colorful mural and matching piano in an alley off of Mountain Avenue. I loved the playful comic book look of Kesley and Ryan’s Thor t-shirts for this location. Plus it totally showed up the silly and goofy part of their personalities.

They also wanted to mix in a more natural mountain location too so we drove up the Poudre Canyon a little ways to Greyrock Trailhead. Here they changed outfits a couple more times and we made good use of the wild plants, river, and bridge. The river in particular looked gorgeous with the setting sun hitting it and they looked like the only two people in the world there. I loved that Ryan wore his army uniform for some of the photos too. He’s about to head off for another tour (Thank you for your service, Ryan!) and I know Kesley will appreciate having these photos while they are separated and she’s finishes with school. These two are such naturals in front of the camera and it really made it hard to narrow down which shots to share. They are getting married at Ryan’s mother’s farm in Nebraska next year and whoever gets to photograph them at their wedding is so lucky!
Congratulations Kesley & Ryan!
