Deer Creek Stables Wedding in Littleton, Colorado
Today on the blog I’m featuring a Deer Creek Stables wedding from Chatfield Farms. My loyal readers already know how much I love photographing at Chatfield and that I got married there three years ago. I’ve shared the beautiful wedding photos I’m able to create at this beautiful wedding venue on my blog so many times but the Chatfield wedding being featured today is different because it’s the first one I photographed over at the new Deer Creek Stables side of the venue.
British inspired wedding elements in Colorado
Michaela and her girls got ready inside of the historic Deer Creek School House which was built in 1874. This is fairly old for Colorado but it’s got nothing on the historical sites and buildings in England which is where Michaela is from. She came out to Colorado and worked at a summer camp where she met Matt. Matt grew up here in Colorado and I think it was pretty neat that they added some subtle British elements into their outdoor rustic Colorado wedding. Lots of the guests made the trip over the pond and many were wearing pretty hats and fascinators in the traditional milliner style that is popular over in the UK. Michaela’s florist (Skyway Creations) told me that they imported some special white English roses to use in the bouquets as well. Being a bit of an Anglophile myself it was a treat to listen to Michaela’s family’s accents throughout the day too.
Prairie Garden Wedding Reception Party at Chatfield
Matt and Michaela got married in front of the gazebo in the Open Air Field where Michaela’s brother in law performed the ceremony for them. Afterwards, the cocktail hour took place on the large circular wood deck near the Prairie Garden. The dinner took place under the huge white canopy of Deer Creek Stables wedding reception space that Chatfield has added next to the school house and the pretty gardens along that walkway. That evening Matt & Michaela danced beneath the twinkle lights of the trees and it was incredibly romantic.
