Four Mile Park Family Photos

I have the cutest Four Mile Park family photos to share today! I actually photographed these for my in-laws in mid-August but I’m still playing catch up and finally finished picking out the photos I want to share online. I’ve had a couple beautiful sessions over near Four Mile House historic park which is this historic farm nestled right in the heart of the Glendale area on the east side of Denver. I did not realize this before, but after looking at their website briefly, it mentions that this farm has the oldest standing structure in Denver (built in 1859) which seems incredible to me.

On the day that I met up with the family, the Four Mile Historic Park was hosting a large outdoor concert so we could hear the music coming through the trees as we photographed them next to Cherry Creek. I sort of forgot about this location but I’m so glad I remembered it because it’s one of the prettiest places on the east side of Denver in my opinion. Tons of people ride their bikes, go skating, and running as well as walk their dogs in the area along the path, but if you climb down into the woods you can find some very pretty areas next to Cherry Creek with beautiful leafy backdrops from all of the trees.

I particularly love this location because it’s one of the only places that I know of in the area where it almost feels like you have found your way into nature even though it is definitely right smack dab in the middle of an urban neighborhood. The water is really shallow and calm making it perfect for a little bit of fun splashing around on a summer afternoon! I know my niece and nephews were pretty pumped about getting to do that with their parents at the end of our session. I think those photos are so cute and I’m glad mom and dad were ok with letting them get dirty at the end.
