elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

McCreery House Loveland Colorado Wedding

April 17, 2013

Alyssa & Dan sure got lucky with the timing of their wedding this year. The Tuesday before their wedding day Colorado saw a huge snowstorm blow through the state. Luckily it all melted just in time for their big day. And then just a couple days after their wedding another snowstorm came through. I’m so glad the timing worked out right because they were hosting an outdoor backyard morning tea brunch ceremony at the McCreery House in Loveland. It was the perfect little Victorian house for their nuptials since they have a fondness for Steampunk and vintage styled clothing and accessories. (Just look at Alyssa’s awesome custom ring in the photos below!) This was such a pretty DIY wedding with a ton of handmade details to show off Alyssa & Dan’s creative skills including a three tiered wedding cake created by the couple themselves. And later at the reception at Club Tico at City Park in Fort Collins, all of their friends and family pitched in for the most delicious potluck meal I’ve been to in a very long time! (Big props to whoever made the goat cheese stuffed peppers. Those were sooo good!)

I wish you two a very happy and long life together!
April

The guests also got to draw numbers to keep the teapots used at brunch.

It was an awesome night with good friends:)

The wedding march in full swing!

Alyssa created that tossing garter herself. (Check out her steampunk bullet garter further down!)

New wedding traditions

It was rather windy so we didn’t stay out long at the lake in City Park in Fort Collins

My favorite!

Alyssa sang a beautiful song for her new husband. It was so sweet:)

With Alyssa’s grandparents:)

Aren’t these awesome?

Some fun games to keep the guests occupied:)
