elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Red Black and Gray Holiday Photos in Colorado

I have a family wearing red black and gray for their holiday photos in the ski resort town of Breckenridge being featured on the journal today. This past weekend I found myself heading up I-70 for the mountain ski resort areas for some family photo sessions. I am not usually a big fan of winter time here in Colorado (mostly due to being a big wimp about cold weather) but I have to admit that there is nothing like a Christmas spent with your family in the mountains. Yes, it’s cold outside but usually the sun is shining and the frigid outdoor temperatures just make the fireplace that much more inviting when you head in. The family on the blog today were visiting Colorado and had the great idea to get updated family portraits made while they were here. They stayed at a gorgeous mountain home with awesome views of the Breckenridge ski slopes. Check out how much fun they were having with those blue mountains in the background! The home they rented had the prettiest front door and porch area which we used for some of the pictures too. Their red, black, and gray clothes looked awesome all together with the front door backdrop and with the snowy slopes backdrop. They did an amazing job coordinating what to wear for their family pictures. I love their red black and gray holiday photos.

I just had to get one shot with the Breckenridge slopes in the background.

We caught individual portraits of the kids and grandma too.
