elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Street Art RINO Senior Photos in Denver

I have been dying to share these RINO senior photos in Denver on the blog and I finally managed to carve out some time in between all of the sessions I’ve been doing lately (it’s fall color season, ya’ll!) to work on these portraits we created for Riley’s high school senior photo session in the RINO arts district in North Denver earlier this month. I actually had the pleasure of photographing his big sister a few years ago at the Denver Botanic Gardens where we got a photo of the two of them together and I’m happy to report that we were able to get an updated sibling photo during this session too! Riley wanted to get some urban style in his photos and I recommended that we hit up an area in River North Art District for some cool looking murals I’ve been seeing in my friend’s feeds lately.

Near Bar Bar and the Curtis Club there are some really cool finds in the mural art scene including a sweet bright red painting of a bulldog by the fabulous Patrick Kane McGregor in one of the alleys over there. Just a little more north is one of my personal faves of a couple kissing in a really cool orange swirly abstract piece by Jason Thielke. The night we met up the Crush Walls art festival was wrapping up with tons of people out on the streets to see what the mural artists dreamed up for the walls in the area. If you are curious about finding the new work nothing beats just going for a walk in the area but I also follow them on instagram (@thecrushwalls) to see lots of inspiration. These are just some of my favorites from Riley’s session. We probably could have photographed all day and not even scratched the surface of all of the neat stuff in the area. But I do love what we were able to get in our 2 hours of walking around and exploring the neighborhood.
