Colorado romantic rainy wedding in a mountain meadow
I have the prettiest Colorado romantic rainy wedding from Mountain View Ranch featured on the journal today. As you look through today’s romantic rainy wedding in Colorado you’d never know that we’ve been dealing with quite a nasty drought during this dry summer here in the Denver area. Ainsley and Matthew hosted their gorgeous mountain wedding at a rustic barn wedding venue just down the road from Staunton State Park off of highway 285 in Pine, Colorado. You may recognize this wedding venue from previous blog posts since it was once known as Lower Lake Ranch and I’ve photographed there before.
It still retains all of the lovely rustic charm that it always had with it’s stunning brand new barn which hosts the wedding reception and its spectacular views of Lion’s Head from the ceremony meadow. Ainsley and Matt were married in late August and luckily opted to do a first look prior to their ceremony so that we could get as many pictures done before the wedding started as we could. As the ceremony neared, I was getting a little worried at how dark the sky was getting but this brave group moved forward despite the foreboding clouds moving in.
Wedding Ceremony with Rain in Colorado
There was a light sprinkle as the ceremony began which turned into the wettest downpour during an outdoor ceremony that I’ve ever photographed. We all got completely soaked but it was really quite a romantic rainy wedding in a Colorado mountain field. It was so sweet to hear Ainsley and Matt’s vows and no one cared one bit about getting drenched. Luckily, the barn where the reception took place was nice and toasty and we all dried off for the rest of the evening’s festivities. These two lovebirds were treated to quite a lovely sunset as well for such a stormy evening. I have to say, the storm really created quite a nice, cozy atmosphere for their event.
