Chatfield Farms is one of the Denver Metro Areas Prettiest Rustic Wedding Venues!
This lovely rustic Colorado wedding featured on the blog today comes to you from Chatfield Farms at Denver Botanic Gardens where the space is large, green, and dreamy. I walked into this wedding having never met the bride and groom (Laurel and Tom) before. However, it took me very little time to figure out that they were really cool, laid-back kind of people. Laurel sat in one of the small rooms of the white Polly Steele bridal house in her flowy, harem style printed pants with her friends surrounding her. They helped with hair, nails, and maybe even a couple drinks too. Tom spent some time with his friends in the yurt playing video games and a little Foosball challenge before getting dressed.
This garden wedding ceremony was the perfect mix of funny and heartfelt moments.
I admit that when I can’t think of something funny to say I’ll sometimes use an old photographer trick and have my clients fake laugh just to see what I’ll get. Tom had me cracking up with his very stage actor-esque fake laugh. Laurel is a wise-crackin’ irreverent kind of gal but all of that melted away as she walked herself down the aisle. I love that look when someone is trying to hold it together. A stand out line from their ceremony proclaimed that if Laurel and Tom were on the Oregon Trail together they would not let each other die of dysentery. Maybe a bear attack, but definitely not dysentery.
One of the best parts of Chatfield Farms is dancing on that big patio under the stars!
Later, during the genuine toasts inside the barn, both Tom and his brother couldn’t help but mention the dust getting in their watering eyes. Laurel and Tom are both so sweet that they just laughed when the children joined them on the dance floor during their first dance. I enjoyed capturing them doing all of the traditional wedding events in their special tongue-in-cheek way. When it was time to do the garter, Laurel remembered that she wasn’t even wearing it and had to quickly put it on. This is just a tiny overview of what a wonderful day it really was. I think the pictures will show what an incredible day it was much better than my words could ever describe!
