elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Rustic Outdoor Colorado Mountain Wedding | Mary’s Lake Lodge in Estes Park

July 5, 2016

Kaycie and Greg are two of the nicest and fun people I’ve met in some time. I met them just over a year ago as they were getting started with their planning and I’m so excited the big day has finally come and gone and I get to share the photos. They did a fantastic job with their planning and I couldn’t believe how awesome their reception room looked after they finished with it. They hosted their wedding celebration at Mary’s Lake Lodge built in 1913 and is nestled above Mary’s Lake in the mountains of Estes Park. Kaycie had collected a bunch of neat mid-century colored glass for the tables and they collected their favorite beer and named their tables after those beers. Kaycie also hosted a party with her bridesmaids where they all created these really pretty dream catchers that they hung from the wood ceiling in the Lodge. One of my favorite touches from the décor were the gold tipped white feathers that they used in the beer bottles in addition to the wild mountain flowers. It all came together beautifully!

The day of their wedding was bright and sunny so we did our best to hang out in the cool lodge environs and shade until the ceremony began. On my drive up to Estes Park that day I was getting pumped up and enjoying the drive and listened to the Talking Heads’ “This Must Be the Place” so you can imagine I was pleasantly surprised when I heard the ceremony singer with a beautiful voice singing an acoustic version of it as the ceremony began! I also liked the added touch of adding this lyric to their sweetheart table décor: “Never For Money, Always For Love.” Clearly Kaycie and Greg have great taste in music and are awesome people! It was an honor for me to capture their fun wedding day in all of it’s glory!

My favorite!
