elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

School themed wedding at the Tapestry House in Fort Collins

May 28, 2013

Kayci and Jonathan met while teaching at the same elementary school. Their love story is so cute it could be the plot for a funny romantic comedy. They invited one of their students to the wedding. He was a kid who said this to Jonathan: “You know Mr. Bass, you’re single. And Ms. Crum is single. Maybe you should get together.” I think he may have a future career in matchmaking because Kayci and Jonathan are perfect together.

And their wedding was so impeccably well done. They carried their teacher theme and beautiful bright blue and pink color scheme throughout the decor and it just looked awesome. I think my favorite creative idea they did was to take a full sized chalkboard and wrote out their wedding program on it. They also had custom printed pencils with their names and wedding date on them and used those for the escort cards.

And the Tapestry House. Oh the Tapestry House in Fort Collins was definitely giving my assistant Erica and I a case of venue envy. We both married in lovely settings ourselves so you know it was a gorgeous location. Not only is the house itself a perfect Victorian style beauty, but the grounds surrounding it are beautifully landscaped with lush gardens. It really is just a photographer’s dream with a ton of options for creating unique and stunning photos. And the people who work there were so nice to us and helpful. You can tell they take great pride in their property and treating their customers well. One of the neat things about that place is that they line their sidewalks and walkways with these custom engraved red bricks with the names of all of the couples who have held their weddings at the site throughout the years. I think it’s a very cool idea to add all of those people into the history of the place.  We also used another historic home in Fort Collins called Avery House for some of their portraits earlier in the day.

Kayci & Jonathan,
All of your hard work and attention to detail really paid off. It was a beautiful wedding and a fun party. Congratulations!
April
