Telluride Family Photographer Colorado Vacation at San Sophia Overlook
I love being a Telluride Family Photographer because it’s one of the best places in all of Colorado for families to vacation. Not only is it beautiful in every direction you look, but the town has done an excellent job with the planning of their little oasis in the mountains. They have an incredible free gondola system that allows visitors to access the town on foot from the Mountain Village Neighborhood where many people stay when vacationing in the area. There is free parking in Mountain Village making it very convenient to get over to Telluride proper and enjoy all of the shops, restaurants, shows, and all that they have to offer there without the stress of finding and paying for parking.
Gorgeous Mountain Views for Family Photography at San Sophia Overlook
This cute little family I’m featuring on the journal today has been to Telluride before with their little guy. One of their favorite activities with him is riding the free gondola. It’s so peaceful up in the air and the views are stunning so we definitely made sure to include that as part of our session. First we started off in town to get an iconic Telluride family photo of them together on the main drag (Colorado Ave) with the beautiful old buildings with mountains stacked up in the distance behind them. We had fun wandering around the town getting photos with the historic Galloping Goose railcar and we also made our way over to the San Miguel River to skip some stones too. After our stop along the San Miguel River, we hopped into a gondola for a ride to San Sophia Overlook where we ended our session at sunset. Their little guy is such a sweetheart and held my hand while insisting we run together along the streets on our way to the gondola. Up on the mountain, we were finally able to let him run to his heart’s content in the mountain meadow before ending our evening with one of my favorite vistas in the area which looks out over the town of Telluride. It was so hard to narrow down the photos for this session because their family is so photogenic but the ones below represent my personal favorites from their Telluride summer vacation family photos.
