elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Wedding at Artwork Network and Event Center | Santa Fe Arts District Denver, CO

November 18, 2015

The Santa Fe Art District is one of my favorite neighborhoods in all of Denver. I love that there are big colorful murals around every corner brightening up the buildings and alleyways. There’s a great collection of street art to be found in the area. I really love the roaring gorilla found on the side of Artwork Network which is where Jessica and Joe got married. You’ll have to scroll down to the end to see what I’m talking about. Jessica and her friends started off their day at The Parlour Salon in the Highlands neighborhood before making their way over to The Hotel Monaco where they finished their wedding day prep.

Before moving on to the gallery for the ceremony we photographed on the steps of the courthouse. We followed that up with a few fun photos of the bridal party enjoying a few of the brews at Renegade Brewery. It was a good way to get some casual photos of Jess and Joe with their friends without too many guests seeing them before the ceremony. After the ceremony was over we made sure to grab some pictures with the fabulous grafitti covered party bus which looked right at home in the neighborhood. The Basic Kneads food truck made sure everyone was stuffed with delicious wood-fired pizza slices for dinner. The reception went off without a hitch (thanks to Lauren from Hourglass Events) and the dance floor was packed all evening! I think one of my favorite details from Jess and Joe’s wedding was their cool custom printed mason jar glasses. They are from opposite coasts and lots of people flew in from Maine and California to meet in the middle and celebrate. The artwork on their glasses reflected this. You know it’s an awesome night when you just don’t want it to end.

I love this one:)

Be sure to check out the WEDDINGS area of my site to see more information about wedding photography!
