elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Wedding at Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms

June 20, 2013

About a week ago I photographed Liz and Corey’s beautiful summer wedding celebration at the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms. The gardens are looking gorgeous and there were so many places to photograph this cute couple in and not enough time:) We made sure to go over to the schoolhouse and get a photo there since both Liz and Corey work as teachers. I gotta say the highlight of the day was the very heartfelt wedding ceremony in the open air chapel. I have had friends ask if I get bored of attending so many wedding ceremonies, but I have to say it’s quite the opposite. One of my favorite things about my work is that I get to witness people in love express it to each other in front of their friends and family. There may be laughter and some jokes said during a ceremony, but the love and vows are always declared in a genuine, unabashed way. How could anyone get sick of that?
The reception was a blast too. The wind picked up and was doing it’s best to knock everyone sideways but they persevered and a good time was definitely had by all.

Corey and Liz,
That was one lovely wedding and my pleasure to photograph it. Here is just a taste of the day. I’ll be in touch with the rest as soon as I can!
April
Liz and her family created these beautiful bouquets themselves with flowers from Whole Foods. I think they’re gorgeous!

The wind got to them!

My favorite:)
