elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Young Family at Denver Botanic Gardens During Autumn

November 24, 2023

Family Photography at Denver Botanic Gardens in Late October

I have another super cute family I get to share on the journal today. We met up at one of my favorite spots in the Denver metro for portraits, the Denver Botanic Gardens. In years past I haven’t had much chance to photograph there during October because of their limited hours not aligning as well with sunset times. But, the positive side to photographing a bit earlier is that for younger children it can be nice to avoid photographing at bedtime the way we have to in early fall and summer. The color was still looking pretty beautiful when we photographed this adorable family though some of the garden beds were starting to be cleared out. Luckily, Denver Botanic Gardens has an entire indoor tropical garden full of plants that stay green year round and they also have a ton of really fun and photogenic structures to help provide some interesting backdrops no matter what is happening with the plants. Below are some of my personal favorites we created for them that afternoon.

If you want to get your own family portraits done, please take a look at the FAMILIES page of my website and reach out. I’d love to see if I can help!
