elcome to the journal for April O’Hare Photography! Here you’ll find all of my latest photographic outings with the couples, families, seniors and small businesses that I get to work with and make beautiful photographs for. You may also see a personal post here and there discussing my life or my travels with my teeny family of one husband and three cats! Sometimes I even write advice articles with tips to help make your photo experience better which you can check out under the “Educational” category.

Take your time and look around! Type in the place where you’ll be getting married in the search box to see if I’ve photographed there before. At the bottom of the page I’ve highlighted some of my favorite sessions and weddings from the past. Grab a drink and have fun going down the photo rabbit hole!

Colorado Engagement Photography | Boulder South Mesa Trail

August 10, 2015

The couple on the blog today are so incredibly photogenic. We met up two hours before sunset like I always do and got so many lovely photos of the two of them by the time the sun was setting that it was really hard to pick out just a handful for the sneak peek. They brought their huge doggie with them and he definitely rounded out their pictures quite nicely. We went to the South Mesa Trail just a tiny bit east of Eldorado Springs because it’s one of my favorite photo locations. But I think the secret is out about that spot because I saw a few other photographers doing sessions there this time. We spent a little bit of time using the areas that I have previously really liked, but this time we went a little farther up the hill for more privacy and I love what we found. There was a great view of the beautiful jagged purple mountains that Boulder is known for and we also found some really pretty boulders with brilliant shades of green moss and lichen growing all over them. I was also pretty psyched that the moon was glowing against the pretty dusky sky and we were able to get a great photo with it before it moved too high up in the sky. But what really made the session great is that the couple was so comfortable with each other and able to express their love on camera so easily. I am going to have a blast photographing their wedding next spring!

So hard to pick a favorite, but I just love this one:)
