Colorado LGBTQ Wedding Photography
I’m thrilled that I finally get to share Jess and Cody’s lovely Colorado LGBTQ Wedding Photography from their fall wedding ceremony at the Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park. I originally met Cody through roller derby where she went by Lezzie Borden. She and Jess have been planning for their big day for over a year now. Cody’s longtime dream was to have fall color at her wedding and she even made sure they got their engagement photos done in late September last year to take advantage of the gorgeous fall color.
They originally planned to host their wedding at another venue but then it closed up shop unexpectedly and they had to figure out another location. I’m still not exactly sure what happened with that other venue, but I’m happy for them that they ended up booking the Barn because it’s such a unique place. It’s located in a huge mountain meadow next to a Buffalo Reserve of some sort so it doesn’t necessarily have tons of fall color since there just aren’t that many trees there. But, what it lacks in fall color it makes up for in sheer rustic beauty. There are rolling hills in the distance and the barn itself was built from the old wood of 5 different barns and has the prettiest stained glass windows.
These two brides got ready separately at different locations and we jumped right into their first look when I arrived. We planned to get as many photos done prior to the ceremony as we could so that they didn’t have to leave their guests hanging as long without them and I think we did a pretty good job of finishing those up as fast as we could. It was awesome to see how much their friends and family clearly loved them by how much they helped out with getting their wedding reception off without a hitch. They scurried around getting the decor and food in place, and Jessica’s cousin even officiated and made all of the adorable mini-cupcakes. And the love continued to pour out through the open mike wedding toasts! It truly was a family affair with lots of love and support from the most important people in their lives. I’ve shared some of my favorites below.
