Forest Family Photography Mount Falcon

Colorado Winter Forest Family Photography Mount Falcon

I’ve got some beautiful forest family photography Mount Falcon pictures to share on the journal this afternoon.  Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting up with this family for their first professional family photos together.  I had so much fun hanging out with them up at the Castle Trailhead at West Mount Falcon in Indian Hills, Colorado. It’s a gorgeous trail full of pine forests and I particularly like how warm and pretty the light looks here during winter.  This mama’s oldest daughter recently decided to make Colorado her home and moved here to start going to college. They’ve been visiting Colorado for many years now so it’s already like a second home for them and so it made sense to go ahead and make it official.  She brought along her boyfriend and their two sweet dogs too.

Beautiful Colorado day at Mount Falcon in mid-January

It was chilly that day, but really not too bad considering we were there in mid-January.  The worst part is getting through all of the ice that stays shaded at the top of the trail to make it down to the section of forest I like to use where the sunshine pokes through all of the trees behind them.  While we waited for the sun to go down a little and provide for some more flattering and softer light we created lots of different family photos in the trees and along the forested path. As the sun started to set, we made our way back up the Castle Trail toward the west side of the parking lot to catch sunset with the beautiful mountain views.  The wind was starting to pick up a little during this time so we didn’t make it very long but I love what we were able to get for them! Check out my favorites from their first family photos below.
